Poiano Garda Resort Hotel

從多洛米蒂開車過來，到達的時候已經晚上8點多了，因為週末酒店全住滿了，check in的時候發現前台操作很不專業，訂的是三人房加擁有景觀的頂層雙人房，結果三間房間全部給標間，和酒店的圖片完全不符，溝通了非常久最後才勉強給了原本屬於我們的房間，等折騰完的時候餐廳也沒東西吃了，還得開出酒店吃披薩。 酒店的環境設施很一流，也標註四星，但房間和內部裝修很普通，可能年代久遠了，開電瓶車的意大利小哥很可愛，一路邊哼歌邊開車帶我們去看各種房型，也很吐槽前台的不專業。

I don't normally write long reviews however, simple Management lessons could easily improve the rating. Let's start with the good points. The hotel has a fabulous 50m pool, and you are supplied with large clean pool towels (with a charge if you need to change during your stay). Sunbeds we're easily available and the grounds were well maintained. We had a lake view room (albeit from a distance) and the surrounding vista was very nice. The vast majority of staff were very helpful and attentive, and deserve recognition for their hard work. The rooms were somewhat dated but when we arrived they were clean and we had a non serviced apartment with one towel change for the week, but not the bedding. It was disappointing that no toaster or mop (although 2 brushes and a mop bucket!) was made available. Management may say that we should ask for these however, as a customer I would say this should be a basic requirement for a self catering/ non serviced room. The mini-market, for such a large hotel site was totally inadequate to service self catering guests. In fact it could be described as a small store room and didn't even have fresh milk available. Management could easily generate more revenue with well stocked, reasonably priced produce. We decided to go for the breakfast during our stay however, this was a big disappointment. For example, many mornings the scrambled eggs were unedible as they were like porridge. The boiled eggs were boiled out of existence, and there were no fried eggs! Never in 40+ years of travelling have I stayed in a hotel with no fried eggs (and we should not have to ask for them). There were some basic hygiene issues for example one serving spoon for baked beans and mushrooms. Lastly we come to the location. We were aware the hotel was around a 30 minute walk to central Garda however, a courtesy bus was regularly available, or so we thought. Fundamentally this service lacked the capacity to satisfy the customer demand with large waiting times both to and from Garda occurring. Also this service finished early evening, with guests having to pay up to 25 euros (total rip off!) for a 5 minute taxi drive back to hotel. I think Management are aware of this major issue for guests whether they chose to address it with a larger bus, and extended times, no doubt will be answered by future reviewers!

This was our third visit to Garda and we decided to book this hotel as it offered everything we wanted. On arrival, reception was very busy, but when we were seen we were welcomed and offered storage for our luggage and towels for the pool area. Our room was spotless including the bathroom and balcony. There is also a free shuttle bus to Garda and back over certain hours. We did walk on one occasion and it took us 30mins The hotel resort and hospitality is excellent. The service is 5*, bar prices far less than the UK Only negatives: food😬 We absolutely love travelling and eating local foods but the half board meal options were bizarre! I’m not going into detail but nothing like we have ever experienced in Italy before. After the second evening we chose to eat outside of the resort and enjoy Italian cuisine. To be fair to the hotel, we were offered replacement meals on our first evening but we declined having waited for so long to report our disappointment. Overall this resort is very well managed and we would recommend

Hotel Poiano The room, we stayed in a junior suit, there was potential to have 4 of us going however my son couldn’t get a flight therefore it was three- 2adults & 1 16yrold. Plenty of room for 4. So clean. Beds comfy. Son was on the sofa and said it was comfy, he slept well. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the room. Two prong plugs. TV with multiple channels. We did have to walk up a steep hill to our hotel room, this was challenging after a few “Spritz”, we did laugh! Nice veranda overlooking pool and lake. The view was incredible, I won’t get over it and found myself gravitating there at each return to sit and look. Breakfast- the scrambled eggs! Oh my goodness! Caters for all, we took a few bananas for the day. This is your chance to get a hot drink with your breakfast. You can also purchase separately from bar at a cost. Tea/Dinner- you get a set menu on a leaflet the night before, choose which meal you would like. You can select which preferred time you want to eat. 7pm- 8.30pm. There was one night our teenager struggled to find a selection he would like and we asked on the leaflet if he could have a kids meal, they gave him a bigger portion and no starter, he was perfectly happy with this and was shocked to see how accommodating they are. The food is Italian. You are in Italy, you don’t get cheeseburgers or mac and cheese. Try new food, you’ll be ok and if you have allergies, they accommodate this too! The meals are meat, fish or vegetarian options for both starter and main meal. You get salad bar every night with breads and oils if you wanted. Desert is buffet. The tiramisu!!! The bar, waiters friendly and make such a good lemonchello spritz, in-fact anything that ends in the word spritz! Checking out was easy, we did this the night before and needed to be done before 10pm, you have to pay local taxes in CASH. The pool- It’s an OLYMPIC sized pool, there’s three lanes for swimmers the rest is for us to mess around in and it’s fantastic. You get a token to exchange for pool towels. The pool bar is cheaper than hotel bar however the wait time for food when busy is long, so long, it took us an hour and we went in May half term. There were two people, one serving the other cooking. Fortunately, we had packed snacks in our suitcase and had a few bits that we’d bought in Garda. We didn’t return to this bar, I’d say this was a negative on the hotel/bar for not staffing adequately, it certainly had no reflection on the polite lady serving and the man who was cooking. Other activities- we didn’t try the gym, spa, golf, kids mini club or tennis because we didn’t want or need to. Free shuttle- could do with starting a little earlier and a speak times there needs to be more than one running. For us, this was the only negative. Out of 7 days of a fantastic holiday, it was only this and it wasn’t that huge of a deal, we just waited. On the days we wanted to be off earlier we had the choice of getting a taxi or waiting

Day 4 of 7 and the pool bar, which is the only source of food at lunchtime, told us it would be roughly a 2-hour wait to get food. And this is just standard pool bar food, nothing fancy. Quite poor when you've got hungry children. There is nowhere else nearby as an alternative.

I Love Poiano! Been here many times, the prices are good, the beds are nice, the breakfast is very good. prosecco in the morning at easter. tjoho! the view!!! the pool area . all the sports you can do. golf, football, gym, tennis, playground for the kids. nice staff

Poiano is a very nice Resort. It is located at a very quiet place close to the lake, the view is beautiful, and it's very conveninet to vist Guarda lake. There are lots of sports inside. The restaurant is fantastic, and service is perfect. It was a nice experience for us to have a weekend there. We will come again.

Reading some of the reviews, we were a little nervous before we arrived! We needn't have worried though, Poiano resort was excellent from start to finish! Being a vegan family, we weren't expecting much food-wise as previous reviewers stated they weren't up to scratch, however we honestly cannot fault them! They went out of their way to make sure we were catered for, even providing vegan desserts and altering what was on the menu for us. There is also a delicious salad buffet full of fresh food which was a lovely touch. We honestly never went hungry and looked forward to breakfast and dinner! They had a full range of plant based milks and vegan friendly spread too. Our room was clean and spacious with comfortable beds and a lovely bathroom. We had a high up 'Junior Suite' and it is up a bit of a hill above the swimming pool, but we found it manageable. However, the hotel do offer lifts on a golf buggy to anyone who may be finding it difficult. The resort is approx 3km from Garda Town but the hotel offer an amazing free shuttle which runs regularly throughout the day (they do have a break in the middle of the day, but apart from this it is approx every 15 mins from 10-6.45pm). We also walked down one day and it took us (with 2 small children) around 20/25 mins in total. Garda town has good bus links to the other beautiful towns and also a port to catch ferries from. The pool was lovely - really huge and the kids loved it. It is 140cm deep with no shallow end, but the hotel provided my children with armbands to use and they absolutely loved it! They also have football pitches, tennis courts, golf course, kids play area and a spa. We would definitely return to Poiano and would recommend it to anyone looking for great accommodation. 👍
